The bowl is absolutely beautiful, but don't let that stop you from using it -- mango wood can take a beating and retain its beauty.  After using, simply leave the lid off to allow the soap to dry and then replace the lid as appropriate. The exterior dimensions of the bowl are 4 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep - interior dimensions are 3.25 inches wide and 1.25 inches deep. Coupled with your favorite shaving soap and a shaving brush, you will certainly get an old fashioned shave that can't be beat!
