    1750 2 reales is one of a series struck 1747-57 during the reign of Ferdinand VI (1746-59).
    2 Reales were a popular coin in circulation during the Golden Age of Piracy in the New World.
    The coin was current in ports from Brazil to South Carolina and was one of the most important trade coins of the era.
    The Mexico City mint, opened in 1538, is still in operation.
    These colonial period coins circulated freely in
    the many New World colonies of Spain.
